Blogs for moms that are run by moms have become wildly popular in recent years. This has happened for many reasons. Being a mom is no easy task. Moms need advice, support, encouragement and ideas, and it’s convenient for busy moms to turn to reputable websites and receive all of that.
For the moms who run the blogs, these websites are a way to connect with others and share stories, worries, concerns, while also being able to uplift and encourage other moms! Blogging also provides a way to make money for these stay-at-home-moms. Here are several of the mom bloggers who have become successful with their ventures.
1. Suzi – Startamomblog.com
Suzi launched Startamomblog.com with the goal of helping new bloggers and mom bloggers skip the “figuring it out” stage and go straight to the “getting paid” stage. She began her site in January of a recent year, which was just three weeks before the birth of her second daughter. She then grew her email list to more than 1,000 by May and launched her ebook in June. Not content to stop there, she introduced her course in September. She created the Blog by Number course just for moms who want to start a blog and make money from home. Suzi has earned more than $100,000 so far, and less than a year after starting her blog, she was making more than $17,000 per month.
2. Ashley – Newmominanewera.com
Ashley is a young mom blogger who started and now runs the site newmominanewera.com. She is passionate about breaking the stigma associated with being a young mom. Ashley says she created her blog as a way to cope with a traumatic birthing experience and an attempt to not fall into the grasp of postpartum depression. She has always found writing to be an outlet and a way to express herself freely, openly and without judgment. Ashley blogs about fashion, food, motherhood and culture.
3. Elna – Twinsmommy.com
Elna owns and runs the websites twinsmommy.com and elnacain.com as a stay-at-home mom of twins who blogs and writes for a living. Through a process of trial and error and within 6 months of starting, she was earning a full-time income as a part-time freelance writer. That’s pretty impressive. She decided to stay home and raise her twins in the fall of 2014 when her year-long maternity leave ended. She has developed and now offers a course for aspiring writers. Elna’s intention as a blogger and writer is to use TwinsMommy as a tool to help moms become mompreneurs. On that blog, she gives readers an inside peek into her journey of growing traffic, income and followers.
4. Crystal – Moneysavingmom.com
Crystal is the creator of the ultra-successful blog Moneysavingmom.com. Before that, in 2006, when she discussed bargain shopping on her former blog, she was swamped with questions. And an idea was born. She realized she wanted to start Moneysavingmom.com to regularly share the same type of frugal tips and strategies. In less than a year, her site became one of the highest-trafficked personal finance blogs on the web. And it has continued to grow and earn a significant amount of money. Along the way, Crystal has written a blog series, an ebook and an ecourse, all of which discuss saving money on groceries.
5. Meagan – Sunshineandsippycups.com
Meagan started the blog sunshineandsippycups.com and quickly brought about success. She earned almost $40,000 her first year and followed that by making almost $100,000 in a year. She was named a Top 100 Home-Based Business on StartUp Nation, 2011. Her goal with her blog is to provide “Smart Solutions for Busy Moms – Simplifying Life One Post at a Time.” She seeks out and discusses new products, sites and services that make busy moms’ lives easier. Meagan has also spoken at conferences, been a published freelance writer and helped to start charitable organizations.
6. Sharon – Momof6.com
Sharon of momof6.com is, as her blog name indicates, a mom with six children. She is passionate about helping busy moms like her get organized, so she provides information on planning ahead and being prepared. Topics include decluttering the entire home, organizing the family calendar, creating kids’ routines, preparing healthy family meals on a budget, hosting awesome birthday parties, enjoying summers with the kids and taking great family road trips.
7. Mandy – Houseofroseblog.com
Mandy over at houseofroseblog.com began her blog in 2008 and soon realized that it was a popular place for online readers to get healthy doses of information and inspiration about motherhood, raising sons, marriage, decorating, faith and real life. Mandy had a goal and dream of creating a space where readers feel inspired, loved and joyful. She wants readers to feel welcomed and reminds them that no one’s life is perfect, but that’s perfectly okay. She also started a course called “Start Your Own Mom Blog.”
All of these mom bloggers provide ideas, inspiration and encouragement to other moms. They have paved their own way and harnessed the power of the Internet to become successful. Follow them closely for ongoing tips and advice and maybe you’ll even start your own blog!
