Let's begin with the fact that they gave my email to Vindale Research. I know this for a fact, because I had never signed up with them prior to Product Testing USA.
After you register, you have to complete a questionnaire that allows you to sign up for additional offers. By checking a desired box, you can opt into different offers that would normally require a lengthy signup procedure.
This can be good and bad because while it saves time, your email happens to fall into another company's hands. This is how Product Testing USA gets around giving my out my email to one of their third-party sites without it being labeled “a scam.”
Some might consider this a scam and others might think what they are doing is completely fine, but it raises some suspicions with me.

Submission Technology, Ltd. and its affiliates claim to protect your personal information. ST owns information collected on Product Testing USA and promises to not share it in any way different from what is described in the privacy policy unless you authorize them to do so.
Legit Or A Scam?
While their policies are concerning, it doesn't land them as a scam. I wouldn't be jumping out of my seat to sign up for Product Testing USA, but if you want some free products, then I don't see the hurt.

Yes they are a legitimate get-paid-to website, but are they worth it? They have profitable offers, but it may be disappointing if you aren't selected for a test. Of course, there's going to be people that wasted their time because not everyone will get to test the product. However, if you're willing to spend the time to apply, the payoff can be pretty great.
Based on the information I have covered, I would sign up for a few products I'm interested in, but I would keep my expectations realistic. It may not payoff frequently, but a free iPhone X is pretty sweet. But if you're looking to get something guaranteed for your time, a survey site may be a better bet.
